For the upcoming New Year, we have prepared an all new New Year’s Eve dinner that is set to give you an experience of your lifetime.

This Spring Festival, Kakikopi will be offering two limited-edition dishes: Low Yee Sang and Abundance Braised Seafood Ricepop.
“捞鱼生”也被称为“捞生”、“鱼生”。“捞鱼生”在马来西亚的农历新年期间 非常受欢迎,应该也算是马来西亚(和新加坡)华人独特的庆祝新年的方式。其实呢,“捞鱼生”是一道带有吉祥意味,祈求来年有好运,发大财的菜式。在马来,捞鱼生不只是一道菜,还是一个迎新年的仪式。
Low Yee Sang, also known as yeesang, prosperity toss, or lohei, is a raw fish salad that is an indispensable Spring Festival celebration dish for Malaysian and Singaporean Chinese people. In fact, it is more than just a dish; it is an important ritual and a way to wish for good luck and wealth in the coming year.

# 捞鱼生 #
Low Yee Sang
“捞鱼生”其实捞的是气氛,鱼生里的每一样食材都有着特别的含义。当一个人发号施令捞鱼生时,大家站起身,挥动筷子,将鱼料捞动,一边夹高还要一边说:“捞起!捞起!(捞喜)捞到风生水起,一年好过一年!”把鱼生盘中的材料夹得愈高,听说来年就会赚得越多,在新的一年中更容易实现心愿。
It is all about the atmosphere when it comes to Low Yee Sang. When the dish is served, everyone stands up and tosses the ingredients into the air with their chopsticks while shouting “lo hei, lo hei” (literally meaning, “scoop it up, scoop it up”) and other auspicious phrases like Gong Xi Fa Cai. It is said that the higher you toss the ingredients, the better your luck will be in the new year.
鱼生里的每一样食材都代表一种吉利话。如在七种吉利话中,红萝卜丝代表鸿运当头,青木瓜丝代表青春永驻,黄狮鱼片则代表年年有余。
Each of the ingredients in yeesang represents an auspicious word. For example, carrots represent good luck, green papaya or radish represent eternal youth, and fish represents abundance and fertility.

Abundance Braised Seafood Ricepop
南洋茶室的另外一道同样寓意着年年有余的美食——“年年有余泡饭”也是不容错过哦。鲜美的海鲜汤泡饭配上美味的鱼片,让你的2021万事游刃有余吧。
The other special dish Kakikopi is offering this year is a braised seafood ricepop, which symbolises abundance. The combination of savoury seafood soup and tender fish fillets will start your new year on the right note.
